At Hangleton Wagtails Nursery we care for 26 children between the ages of 2 and 5 years.
The numbers and ages of children admitted to the nursery comply with the legal space requirements set out in the Early Years Foundation Stage. When considering admissions, we are mindful of staff: child ratios and the facilities available to us.
Your child may attend for a short school day, with an optional “stay and play” hour, or an extended working day. They may attend mornings, afternoons or a combination of both. We do our very best to accommodate your requirements.
These options can be term-time only (38 weeks) or for the 48 weeks that we are open per year.
If your child attends term-time only, and you would like them to attend some of the school holiday time, we are happy for you to pay to attend the extra, providing we have space available.
We have no minimum session requirement.
There is a non-refundable £30 registration fee (except for children with 2-year-old funding) and no deposits are payable.
The nursery will use the following admission criteria which will be applied in the following order of priority after which we operate strictly in order of date of application received:
1. Children referred to us by an outside agency
2. Children who have siblings who are already with us
3. Children whose parents live within the area.
We operate an inclusion and equality policy and ensure that all children have access to nursery places and services irrespective of their gender, race, disability, religion or belief or sexual orientation of parents.
Prior to a child attending nursery, parents must complete and sign a contract and registration form. These forms provide the nursery with personal details relating to the child. For example, name, date of birth, address, emergency contact details, parental responsibilities, dietary requirements, collection arrangements, fees and sessions, contact details for parents, doctor’s contact details, health visitor contact details, allergies, parental consent and vaccinations etc.
All settings registered to accept government funding must offer free places for two to five-year olds for early learning sessions specified by the local authority. At Hangleton Wagtails Nursery, we currently provide these free funded places which may be used for any session, subject to availability. Please note for admissions for the free nursery education we have a termly intake, beginning the term following your child’s second or third birthday.
